religion
We learned so much about the events leading to Jesus' crucifixion. We are now finishing up Chapter 10. Then we will work in our Growing in Love book. This book covers respecting our bodies, puberty, virtues, and respect for all life. If you would life to see a copy before we get started, please let me know. There will be short tests after every two chapters.
Math
The students did a great job with decimals and fractions. Tomorrow we will start our customary measurement chapter. Then we move on to metrics! Rulers will be needed. I have extras, so don't worry! We will continue to have timed tests and work in IXL.
Language Arts
We just completed our expository essay on our states. They did a nice job with a long essay: six paragraphs! Their Poster Biography book report is due tomorrow. We are in Unit 4 Week 4 of our Wonders series. Hopefully we will complete Unit 4 by the end of the school year. We continue to do short writing pieces.
Social Studies
We are finishing up with our study of the Southwest. Next we are on to the last region of study, the West! We should be able to cover both chapters. States and capitals will be memorized as well. They learned a lot about this great country of ours this year!
science
Right now we are studying Wave Patterns and Information Transfer. We have done a few interesting inquiry activities. Our study will include earthquakes and seismic waves, and how info travels from computer to computer. Interesting stuff!
Thank You!
This year has just flown by. I enjoyed getting to know you and your children. They have grown so much spiritually and academically. I am very proud of them! I hope you are too. Some of you may have heard I have decided to retire this year. St. Isidore School has been a second home to me for many years; 5 before I had my own children, and thirteen from 2006 until now. I have so many fond memories, and the year with your children is certainly one of them. Your families will remain in my prayers. Thank you for all your help and support. I truly appreciate all you have done to make this school year a successful one for your children and me.
